Kyneton Show tea towel

I was commissioned by the Kyneton Show to create a design for a tea towel to be sold as a fundraiser.

The tea towel design was based on the chutneys, jams, pickles and preserves entered into the show pavilion, and it was important for the design to reinforce the home-made and traditional nature of the show.

The illustrations were drawn using an ink pen without pencil sketches done first, I find this helps to keep the illustrations lively, with a slightly wobbly and imperfect feel - I didn’t want the artwork to feel too polished and static, and felt it best captured the overall feel of the family friendly show. (Although in reality the standard of home baked goods and preserves is incredibly high!)
